A four-year-old girl from West Valley, who was visiting relatives in Woods Cross, was critically injured after she was hit by a SUV-like vehicle in the neighbor’s driveway.
The accident happened at 1413 West 2175 South around 7:30 p.m. on September 9.
According to the report, the homeowner arrived home and saw a number of kids in the street and in the area. The police said that a group of children caught the woman driver’s attention as she was going into her driveway and that she did not see the young girl standing there.
The video report indicated that the girl’s relatives live in the adjacent property. The girl was transported by a helicopter to Children’s Primary Medical Center in critical condition.
Police Detective Adam Osoro of Woods Cross Police Department stated that speed was not a factor in the accident. Although he reminds people to slow down when they are in neighborhoods and to always be on the lookout for children.
