In an early morning pedestrian-vehicle accident, KSL reports that an elderly man has died from injuries sustained in the accident. The accident occurred just before 7 AM this morning as the man was trying to cross the street, apparently trying to make it to a bus stop. There was no crosswalk where the man crossed at Main Street and 2300 North, but there was one on the opposite side of the light. The man apparently crossed against traffic as the light was green for oncoming traffic. The man was well known to the area and was often seen making this particular walk; he was 85 and lived alone.
Our thoughts are with this man as well as the individual that struck and killed him, which accident quite evidently was unintentional. We hope that the deceased man’s family will find comfort and the driver may also find a measure of peace.
