A dump truck crash on Highway 89 was reported to have caused traffic blockage at the northbound entrance from I-15 to Farmington Monday morning.
Utah Highway Patrol troopers disclosed that the dump truck was traveling on I-15 and veered to the right. The news report indicated the truck somehow tipped on its side and spilled asphalt on the roadway. This caused the roadway to be closed by authorities so crews could clean the spillage, an endevour which took a little over two hours. The road reopened at 1:40 PM.
The driver of the truck was identified as a 53 year old. He was treated on the scene and then released. His passenger was described as a 32 year old man who sustained minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital according to the article.
The occupants of the dump truck were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident. The report did not provide additional explanation for the accident. No other motorists were involved.
