Street crossing signCourtney Osbourn, a 13 year old form Payson, and three friends were crossing a dark rural street on Saturday when they were hit by a car driven by a fellow teenager. Courtney remains in critical condition while her friend Jared Filmore is also being held at Primary Children’s Hospital for further observation of head trauma. The other teens, Shanece Reynolds and Hailey Burr, were released yesterday after their leg injuries were attended to.

According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, 59% of all fatal car crashes for teens occur on the weekend.

Though figures for teenage accidents like these typically involve drug or alcohol abuses, in this incident none of the kids were under the influence.

We at Christensen & Haymas extend our sympathies to these teens and we wish them a speedy recovery. We urge those involved in this incident and others like it to call us at (801) 506-0800 for a free case consultation.
