A single vehicle veered off I-80 and went down an embankment to land on the road below last Sunday night around 7:46 PM.
Trooper Lawrence Hopper of the Utah Highway Patrol identified the vehicle as a Mazda 6. He cited the driver was traveling eastbound on I-80 when they veered left and hit a concrete barrier.
After hitting the barrier, the vehicle went over its walls and traveled a short distance before it rolled over the second barrier and went down an embankment. When the Mazda 6 came to a halt it was on its hood near 2000 East.
The driver was reported to have suffered minor injuries from the accident.
Authorities are investigating the accident and a possible DUI with alcohol being a factor. No other parties were injured or involved in the accident.
