At 2:05 p.m. of Wednesday, an accident occurred on I-15 which resulted a driver receiving critical injury and two female passengers being injured to an unknown extent. According to a recent report, a Honda Civic traveling north on I-15 near 700 South in Layton swerved and hit the inside barrier of the freeway. The Honda Civic then bounced off the rail and into oncoming traffic and became wedged beneath a semi-trailer.

The report stated that a man was then flown to McKay-Dee Hospital in critical condition and the two females were driven by ambulance to a hospital. Moreover, the conditions of the two female victims were not immediately clear.
It was also reported that there were no other reported injuries. Sgt. Todd Royce of the Utah Highway Patrol said that the cause of the accident is under investigation. He added that the reason why the Honda Civic driver veered into traffic is still unclear.
