Teacher Alie Cole Hostetter Dies Trying to Help Another

UTA busIn a tragic event yesterday, Alie Cole Hostetter was hit while trying to help a woman who had just been involved in a minor scooter accident. Ms. Hostetter later died from her injuries. Having seen the scooter go down and a woman with it, Ms. Hostetter stepped off the curb to go to the aid of this woman and was immediately struck by an oncoming UTA bus. The accident occurred near 310 E. and 4500 S. in Murray on Wednesday afternoon. Investigators say the driver of the UTA bus will not be cited as he/she was not at fault.

Our hearts go out to the family of Ms. Hostetter. Ms. Hostetter displayed a measure of kindness and charity that many of us hope for—she was truly ‘selfless’. On behalf of Christensen & Hymas, we express our sincere condolences.
