I-15 southbound of accidentDavis County became another scene for an accident involving a motorcycle and a vehicle. The accident happened on I-15 last Sunday. According to the report, the motorcycle driver was transported to the hospital in serious condition. The driver of the car did not suffer any injury.

Northbound traffic was delayed as a result of the incident. Motorists were advised by authorities to seek alternate routes pending the clearing of the scene.

South Davis Metro Fire said that the accident also resulted in the closure of the far right lanes of I-15 northbound at around 3:30 p.m. The resulting traffic was backed up into Salt Lake County. Authorities said that the traffic was cleared by late afternoon of Sunday.

It was disclosed that the motorcycle driver is a gentleman in his 50’s. Authorities stated that the man made an improper lane change and hit loose gravel, which caused him to lose control and sideswipe a car.

The report did not disclose the identity of the motorcycle driver. It was also not stated whether the driver was wearing a helmet during the accident. Authorities did not say if speed was a factor in the accident.
