untitled (7)Another hit-and- run accident was reported in Utah. The report identified the fatality as 53-year-old Mark Hoggard of Sandy. According to the article, Hoggard was driving a semi-trailer that struck a barrier on the I-80 eastbound off ramp to I-15 southbound and 600 South. He got out of his truck and went to the back portion of the truck to warn other motorists.

The report stated that Hoggard was hit by a vehicle after he got out from his truck and was critically injured as a result. He died Friday afternoon due to sustained injuries from being hit by a vehicle. By Saturday, police authorities began searching for the vehicle believed to be responsible for Hoggard’s injuries.

The report stated that Utah Highway Patrol issued a press release stating that the acquired evidence from the crash site suggested that Mark Hoggard was possibly hit by a Geo Metro between model years 1995 and 2001. Authorities said the vehicle is missing a left mirror.

Authorities believe that this is another case of an auto-pedestrian accident. The authorities also stated that nobody called saying that they were involved in an accident.

The report also stated the police are asking anyone with information about the accident or a vehicle matching the description above to contact dispatch officials at 801-887-3800.

We hope that whoever who is responsible for this accident will voluntarily contact police authorities to take responsibility what happened. We also hope that whoever was responsible will have the courage to come forward to shed light to the accident.
